Our weekly ‘BCfm Politics Show’ began broadcasting on Good Friday 27th March 2009 with a commitment to bring you straight-talking weekly local, national and world news from Bristol entirely free from propaganda.
‘A Bristol Angle On World Politics’ pits Marxist Oxford Politics Philosophy and Economics graduate and former aid worker Martin Summers against Christian socialist and former BBC radio investigative journalist Tony Gosling to pick through the week’s most important developments, as well as frequent special investigations.
The media model in the UK is seriously flawed in that almost all national and international news comes from London, to a lesser extent Edinburgh, Glasgow (much better) and Belfast, but not Cardiff.
The news is too easy for special interests to control when it’s owned by a handful of media moguls and some national media outlets are so indebted they are effectively owned by the banks. Germany has a more diverse and robust model with national and international commentary from big cities such as Cologne and Hamburg across the regions.
‘The press is every day becoming more and more powerful for good or evil; its influence on men’s minds has become so marked that it may with truth be said that the press rules public opinion rather than public opinion rules the press.’ From: J. Arthur Gibbs, A Cotswold Village, Country Life and Pursuits in Gloucestershire, (1898). Written over a century ago, before the age of radio or television.
‘In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act.’ George Orwell.

WordPress search is pretty rudimentary but try adding terms to the search box here if you want something specific. If that fails and you think the content you’re looking for is in archive [1] or [2] above, just go to that page, (2 is better) and type [CTRL F]. Please make a note of the date of the show and search the Radio4All pages or follow links next to First hour and Second hour and search there.

Oh for an honest MSM. Imagine how different things would be if we didn’t have to reverse everything they tell us. https://t.co/zbJ37Zy2om

Thanks Sara – fascinating – but not unexpected trickery – tyranny seems to be all these people know!
Martin Summers may be knowledgeable but he is sounding more gatekeeperish with each passing week
