Bristol Waste whistle blower; Bristol Waste street cleaners accused of bullying and cocaine use, ‘toxic’ culture and attacks on woman. ‘It was like being in a prisoner of war camp,’ says whistle-blower Jacqui Probert – Jacqui Probert, 58, claims she endured years of abuse while working for the waste company and felt “suicidal” by the time she resigned last month. The grandmother-of-five alleges the “toxic” culture at the Hartcliffe Way street cleaning depot included: on-duty cocaine use by a street cleaner who allegedly still works at Bristol Waste – 18 physical assaults against Ms Probert by another employee – around 20 men bullying, verbally abusing and refusing to work with Ms Probert – colleagues spitting on the floor near her and branding her a “snake with t***” and “witch” – “lazy” street cleaners refusing to get out of Bristol Waste vans to clean the city’s streets. – Ms Probert, of Filton, said: “The abuse was constant.
